This is a quick note to remind you that December 31st is the deadline to open a defined benefit plan or 401(k) for most family businesses, independent professionals and individuals with self-employment income. However, you can still open a retirement plan for your high-income clients through Dedicated Defined Benefit Service’s Quick Adoption Process. We can help you open:

OnePersonPlus is a Defined Benefit Retirement Plan that can reduce taxable income by $100,000 or more annually while adding $1-2.5 million to retirement savings. Clients opening defined benefit plans may be eligible to add an individual 401(k) for flexibility or to maximize contributions.

To establish these plans for 2016 your client must sign and date all Quick Adoption documents by December 31. Download and send the pdf to your clients now. Quick Adoption documents won’t be available after January 1st.

Dedicated DB must receive the signed documents no later than January 6, 2017. Contributions are due by 2016 tax year filing with extensions but no later than September 15, 2017.
